Veronique Theriault is an Assistant Professor of International Development in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics, associated with the Food Security Group. She has experience in developing conceptual framework, designing survey questionnaires, collecting primary data, conducting value chain and policy analyses, assessing impacts, and working with national and international collaborators. Her current work focuses primarily on West Africa. She has worked intensively on the effects of institutional arrangements, such as contract farming schemes, on the cotton sectors. She has also led projects aimed at defining strategic value chain interventions for improving the impact of agricultural development on women and youth inclusiveness as well as on food and nutrition security. Her current work includes research on sustainable intensification in smallholder agriculture.
